The Ty Lewis Cancer Foundation was created with dedication and love from the Gray family to assist those who have a family member fighting or have lost a loved one to cancer. Our goal at The Ty Lewis Cancer Foundation (TLCF) is to raise money to benefit these families while they struggle with diagnosis and treatment. At the TLCF we raise funds in direct support of these families for household items, medications, financial support, or to help with a scholarship fund so a child may further their education. The TLCF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization commited to assisting families in need.
As many of you know, Ty is my big brother and hero. He faught stage IV colo-rectal cancer for over 3 1/2 years. We lost ty to Cancer on April 2, 2011. Through his foundation we will honor his mission and warrior spirit.
Through this experience with my brother & mother who is also a cancer survivor, we have experienced firsthand the strain this illness has on everyone involved. Besides the obvious physical and emotional pain, the financial burden that comes with cancer can be crippling and adds to the terrible strain the family must endure. No one should have to choose between food & medication!! Recently, we were able to provide financial assistance from the foundation to assist a mother and her three young boys who lost their father to cancer. However, the coffers are very low and it's time to get serious in raising the funds to help more families.

Ty Lewis has dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring youth in the game he loves, Soccer. He strived to develop attitudes of perseverence, dedication and hard work. Many of his players have been accepted to the Olympic Development Team, where they have been chosen to travel and train internationally. Our events promote fitness, sportsmanship and teamwork. Ty truly embodies the term "strength through adversity." We are excited to announce the upcoming Ty Lewis Unite For Life Challenge. This event is a fun way to walk~run~skate our way to victory on behalf of my brother and the thousands of others affected by cancer. It's a chance for families to come together, share in a cause and make a difference. This event will take place February 18th 2012 starting at Paddy Murphy's Pub in Baldwin Park!!

Ty is a father of two fantastic children Samantha and Christopher. Samantha is in college majoring in Special Education. Christopher is in high school and plays for the Reston Knights FC as well as the Olympic Development Team. He coached The Reston Knights to a State Champion title for the second time, back to back.

Ty is married to the love of his life, Shannon. She is a dedicated mother and wife. He is loved and supported by his little sister, Stacy and parents, Larry & Cindy Lewis. We are all surrounded by a loving and supportive circle of friends and family. Together we can all make a difference.
